1What Eventloupe does
Eventloupe is a Chrome DevTools extension that helps developers and marketers inspect the analytics and tracking events fired on any website they are actively debugging. It captures and displays tracking requests (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok, etc.) that are already visible in the Chrome DevTools Network tab.
2Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect any personal information about you
- We do not transmit any data to our servers or any third-party servers
- We do not use analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
- We do not require an account or login
- We do not track which websites you visit
3What the extension reads on a page
To show you tracking events, Eventloupe runs a small script on web pages that observes calls to known analytics APIs (such as dataLayer.push, gtag, fbq) and requests to known tracking endpoints, including the request body where the event details are sent. Those events may contain identifiers that the site itself sends to its analytics vendors. Eventloupe does not send them anywhere: they are shown in the DevTools panel, kept temporarily in your browser as described below, and included in an export or report only when you create one yourself.
4How captured data is stored
Tracking events captured while you use Eventloupe are stored exclusively in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:
- chrome.storage.session — temporary in-memory storage that is automatically cleared when you close the browser or the browser session ends. Used to restore the event feed if Chrome's service worker restarts.
- chrome.storage.local — used only to persist your personal alert rule configurations (if you create any). This data never leaves your device.
No captured tracking data is ever written to disk beyond Chrome's own storage mechanisms, and none of it is ever sent outside your browser.
5Permissions explained
Eventloupe requests the following Chrome permissions:
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
<all_urls> |
Required to inject the tracking interceptor into any website you open for inspection. Without this, the extension cannot observe tracking events on the page you are debugging. |
webRequest |
Used to observe (not block or modify) network requests made by tracking pixels that fire before the DevTools panel is opened, such as early-loading beacons and server-side pixels. |
scripting |
Required to inject a small JavaScript hook into the inspected page's main context to intercept dataLayer pushes, gtag() calls, fbq() calls, and other JS API-level tracking events. |
tabs |
Used to read the current tab's URL so events can be correctly grouped by page in the Eventloupe panel and audit reports. |
storage |
Used to save your alert rule preferences locally in your browser (see above). |
6Third-party services
The Eventloupe extension does not integrate with or communicate with any third-party service. It operates entirely offline once installed. This website is covered separately in section 7.
7This website (eventloupe.com)
The extension and this website are separate. Everything above describes the extension. This section describes eventloupe.com.
- Off by default. The site loads no analytics and sets no cookies until you choose. A banner asks whether you accept analytics, and nothing from Google loads until you accept. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a decline.
- If you accept. The site loads Google Tag Manager (container GTM-W84P3S2P). It may set cookies and send page-view and interaction data, including your IP address, to Google and to any measurement tools configured in that container. Consent Mode is used, and only analytics storage is granted. Advertising storage stays denied.
- Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage, key
el-analytics). Change it any time: . If you withdraw consent, the page reloads without analytics. Cookies that were already set can be cleared in your browser settings. - Everything else is first-party. The site's fonts, scripts and images are served from eventloupe.com itself.
8Children's privacy
Eventloupe is a developer tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
